Villa Cimbrone

During the 19th century, the coastal road desired by the Bourbons made Ravello a favorite destination for artists and intellectuals on the Grand Tour. Among its wonders, Villa Cimbrone stands out for its breathtaking location and timeless charm. The name itself evokes an ancient estate, Cimbronium, immersed in lush vegetation.

Its magnificent gardens are a unique example of Anglo-Saxon landscaping. Built in the 11th century, the villa underwent an extraordinary transformation in 1904, thanks to the vision of the English aristocrat Lord Grimthorpe. Walking through its paths, bronze statues and stone sculptures accompany your steps along avenues shaded by centuries-old cypresses. Every perspective offers images of rare beauty in a perfect balance between art and nature.

The famous Terrace of Infinity, with its marble figures immersed in time, is a tribute to the human desire to grasp the eternal. Not surprisingly, the famous writer Gore Vidal called it “the most beautiful panorama in the world”.
