The Atranese "pasticciotto"
A trip to Atrani would not be complete without tasting the typical dessert of the area: the “pasticciotto atranese”. In its traditional version, the “pasticciotto atranese” has a golden, crumbly crust that surrounds a heart of custard flavored with the prized Sfusato Amalfitano lemon and enriched with juicy black cherries. Master ice cream maker Francesco Cretella and his wife Alda De Pascale have adapted the Apulian recipe to local ingredients, creating a true specialty of the Amalfi Coast.
Renamed “pasticciotto atranese”, this sublime dessert is now offered in all local pastry shops, both in the traditional version and in many variations.
